Organization Profile

The Centre Performing Arts Company (CPAC) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization established to serve fine arts students in Fauquier and surrounding counties by providing excellence in education, performance opportunities, and need-based scholarships to attend nationally and internationally renowned dance training programs.

CPAC offers ongoing dance training seminars for the community in nutrition, injury prevention, career counseling, and technique classes taught by guest instructors, performers, and educators who are among the elite in their individual fields.

CPAC provides performance opportunities as an integral part of its educational offerings. Each production requires thousands of hours of commitment from performers, staff, and volunteers and creates a synergy with students in an ideal environment to develop their artistry, work, ethic, patience, and focus. CPAC operates with the knowledge that there is a direct correlation between students who participate in the performing arts and a significant reduction in child and adolescent involvement in drug or alcohol use, delinquency, etc. At the same time there is a measurable increase in academics, I.Q., cognitive thinking, and the probability of completing a four-year college degree.

Each year, CPAC brings engaging performances to local schools, combining education in history and an introduction to the arts through stunning pictures, costumes, and live characters in an interactive experience for our students. Complimentary tickets to the annual CPAC production of The Nutcracker go to the Fauquier Family Shelter, Fauquier for Families, the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, and Youth for Tomorrow to ensure that all children in the community are able to experience this beautiful ballet.

The Nutcracker is one of CPAC’s most magical performances, bringing together performers and teachers from American Ballet Theatre, La Scala, San Francisco Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and more to coach and train the students. The CPAC Nutcracker is regarded as the best in the region, drawing thousands of audience members each year who come to watch accomplished dancers in a polished, student-cast, and high-quality production. The performance serves as an introduction to the beauty of ballet and the performing arts, and a cherished holiday favorite for many in our community.
